The Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre (Royal MTC) is a celebrated landmark in Winnipeg, dedicated to showcasing the full spectrum of theatre arts. As Canada’s first English-language regional theatre, we’ve been bringing quality performances to life since 1958. Our mission is to reflect and enrich the local community through engaging productions that appeal to a wide audience.
Located in the heart of Winnipeg, Royal MTC produces 10 plays annually across two stages, alongside a variety of youth programming and festivals including the renowned Winnipeg Fringe Theatre Festival. With a commitment to innovation, we also premiere new works, fostering a vibrant arts scene in Manitoba. Emphasizing collaboration and reconciliation, we proudly acknowledge our home on Treaty 1 territory.
